Grading July 2016



Monday 4th of July. 

Grading Candidates

Members up to 1st Kyu. (1st Kyu is brown belt so the grading is for those below brown belt.) 



Grading applicants need to fulfill the following criteria to be eligible to grade:

1. The applicant must have been in continuous training for at least the previous 3 months.

2. The applicant must not be in debt to the club or SBI (i.e. all payments to the club or SBI must be up-to-date).

3. The applicant must not have been subject to any disciplinary proceedings over the past 1 year.


For those attempting 2nd Kyu or 1st Kyu gradings, their grading forms require a counter signature by an instructor who has agreed to sponsor the candidate. 


All grading forms should have already been submitted (scanned and e-mailed to and grading fees have been paid by the deadline which will be 17:00 hours on 15 June 2016. 


The grading requires extra time to set up so everyone is asked to arrive in good time.


18:00 - 18:15 Grading registration and dojo setup

18:15 - 19:15 Children's grading

19:15 - 19:30 Children's awards ceremony

19:30 - 21:00 Adult's grading

21:00 - 21:15 Adult's awards ceremony

21:15 - 21:30 Dojo dismantling + close


We will make every effort to avoid over running which may occur by up to 15 minutes.


Lastly no photography is permitted until after the grading and the senior instructor expressly invites parents/guardians to do. This is part of our child protection policy as well as following our national governing body guidelines.
